MACOMB, Il — The Western Illinois University Department of Art and Design is hosting its holiday sale, Dec. 9-11, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the University Union Brattain Lounge.
The sale will showcase a wide array of original works, including ceramics, prints, jewelry, photography and more, all crafted by WIU art students. A portion of the proceeds will directly support these student artists.
This year is also the fourth annual Little Rocky Dog Silent Auction, hosted in partnership with the Office of Student Engagement. The silent auction features WIU’s Rocky mascot through miniature ceramic “Rocky” dogs, originally created for Homecoming, each designed with different themes.
The 2024 collection includes Wolverine and Deadpool Rockys, a Chappell Roan Rocky, Scooby-Doo Rocky and more.
The silent auction will run alongside the holiday sale, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with bidding concluding at 4 p.m. on Dec. 11. Proceeds from the auction will support the Little Rocky Dog on Parade Foundation, helping artists cover the costs of creating the figurines and funding future projects.
The holiday sale and Rocky Dog auction provide a chance to find gifts while supporting student artists.
